1. Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies to Hijri Update websites, digital services, administrative tools, backend API applications, and supporting infrastructure services that reference or link to this Policy.

Certain backend services support continuity, security, authorized cloud storage, data integrity, and recovery of information required to operate our services reliably.

2. Information We Process

Information you provide

Depending on the service you use, we may process contact information that you voluntarily provide, including a telephone number or email address where required for requested communications or service delivery.

Service and security information

We may process technical records required for service reliability, security, integrity verification, continuity, troubleshooting, and authorized recovery operations.

Google-authorized information

Where an authorized Google account is connected to a backend service, we process authorization information and Google Drive data only to perform the cloud-storage functions described in this Policy.

3. How We Use Information

We process information only for legitimate service purposes, including:

  • providing requested Hijri Update services and communications;
  • maintaining service availability, continuity, reliability, and data integrity;
  • securely storing authorized service backups in approved cloud storage;
  • retrieving and validating stored information when required for authorized recovery or continuity purposes;
  • enforcing retention and deletion requirements;
  • detecting, investigating, and preventing security incidents, misuse, corruption, or operational failures; and
  • complying with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.

4. Google API and Google Drive Data

An authorized backend infrastructure service may connect to Google Drive through Google's OAuth authorization framework for secure cloud-storage, continuity, and recovery functions.

The Google Drive permission currently requested is:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive

When this permission is authorized, the backend application may perform Google Drive operations necessary to manage the designated service-storage lifecycle, including:

  • creating and organizing authorized storage folders and files;
  • uploading authorized encrypted service data;
  • listing and inspecting designated stored items and related metadata;
  • downloading stored items for integrity validation, continuity, and authorized recovery;
  • updating or replacing stored service data as required by normal operational cycles; and
  • deleting designated stored information when it expires, is superseded, or must be removed under applicable retention requirements.
Google user data is not accessed for advertising, behavioral profiling, credit decisions, marketing lists, or unrelated commercial purposes.

5. Security and Data Protection

We use layered technical and administrative safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed. These safeguards include:

  • Encryption before cloud storage: designated service-backup data is encrypted before transmission to authorized cloud storage where applicable.
  • Encryption in transit: communications with Google APIs and cloud services are protected using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
  • Restricted administrative access: sensitive operational systems and authorization configurations are accessible only to authorized administrators and approved service processes.
  • Access controls: sensitive configuration and service records are protected using restrictive access and permission controls.
  • Credential protection: authentication credentials and authorization tokens are treated as sensitive information and are not intentionally exposed through public interfaces.
  • Integrity controls: stored service data may be subject to validation and cryptographic integrity checks to detect incomplete or corrupted transfers.
  • Retention controls: information is retained only for the period reasonably required for its intended service, security, continuity, or legal purpose.
  • Operational monitoring: service activity may be monitored for failures, unauthorized access, integrity issues, and security events.
While no technology can guarantee absolute security, we maintain safeguards designed to reduce unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse of information.

6. Google API Services User Data and Limited Use

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Google API data is used only to provide or improve the functionality described in this Policy and is not sold.

We do not permit human access to Google user data except where access is necessary and permitted for security, troubleshooting, compliance with applicable law, or where the user has provided appropriate authorization.

7. Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information or Google user data.

Information may be processed by trusted technology providers only where reasonably necessary to provide the relevant service, such as:

  • cloud infrastructure and hosting providers;
  • Google APIs and Google Drive for authorized cloud-storage functions;
  • communication providers used to deliver user-requested notifications or messages; and
  • security, reliability, and operational service providers where required.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, lawful process, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, our services, or the rights and safety of others.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant service, maintain continuity and security, satisfy legitimate operational requirements, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

  • expired or superseded stored service data may be removed under established retention controls;
  • temporary working data may be removed when no longer required;
  • security and integrity records may be retained for a reasonable operational period; and
  • users may request deletion of personal information they have voluntarily provided, subject to applicable legal or operational requirements.

An authorized Google account holder may also revoke an application's Google access through the security or connected applications settings provided by Google.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may contact us to request information about personal data you have provided, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion where appropriate.

You may also withdraw or revoke permissions that you have granted through third-party account providers, including Google, using the controls those providers make available.

10. Children's Privacy

Our backend administrative and infrastructure services are not directed to children and are not intended to collect children's personal information through Google API authorization.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, security practices, legal requirements, or use of authorized APIs.

Material changes affecting the handling of Google user data will be reflected in the published Policy before such data is used for a materially different purpose.
